Teachers Mutual Bank is the leading sponsor of the Bell Shakespeare Company’s Regional Teachers Mentorship program (RTM), which invites regional teachers to spend a fortnight in Sydney learning how to bring the teaching of Shakespeare alive for all ages in English classes across the country. Teachers then return to their regions and Bell Shakespeare mentors their progress over the following year.

Teachers Mutual Bank wanted to revisit teachers who had participated in the program since its inception in 2016 to see how their teaching had actually changed over the ensuing years. Inky Smudge was engaged to travel to regions across the nation and tell their stories on video. Each story introduced the teacher, their town and region, presented the unique issues they faced and showed how the experience of the RTM had changed the way they work with their students.

Over 18 months Inky Smudge produced a series of five videos covering the WA wheat belt, far western Victoria and country NSW, to tell these stories.
